1-- Either as you are adding a person, or by visiting their individual account, click the Friends switch that has the checkmark on it.
2-- Under Show in News Feed, click Settings
3-- Under the section that says How many updates? Change it from Most Updates to All Updates if that is what you want.
Facebook's default is to establish it to Show in News feed, and The majority of updates. There may be some people you want to decrease presence with, and others you would love to raise visibility with. You could make all those changes in this same place. For instance if you accepted somebody as a buddy yet don't actually wish to see their posts, yet don't intend to unfriend them either, UNcheck the Show in News feed option. Or if you just don't intend to see their images, video game activity or various other things, you can UNcheck just those sorts of blog posts. If you intend to only see significant life events such as when they add a brand-new connection, get a task, move away, etc. transform the readying to Just Essential.
