1-- Either as you are including somebody, or by seeing their individual profile, click on the Friends switch that has the checkmark on it.
2-- Under Show in News Feed, click Settings
3-- Under the section that states How many updates? Adjustment it from Most Updates to All Updates if that is exactly what you want.
Facebook's default is to set it to Show in News feed, and also Many updates. There may be some people you wish to decrease visibility with, as well as others you would love to raise exposure with. You can make all those changes in this same place. For instance if you accepted somebody as a close friend but do not really want to see their posts, yet don't intend to unfriend them either, UNcheck the Show in News feed choice.
