Over the previous month, 2 of my Facebook buddies have had their accounts hacked (that I understand of). In both of these cases, the hacker opted to go through the person's Facebook e-mails to check out all of their messages and after that use that information to message their friends-- impersonating them.

I was among those individuals that each hacker messaged. It was a sobering experience to realize that somebody might possibly have access to all of your individual discussions that you've had with friends and family, returning for years!

After this experience, I chose that I wished to Delete All Facebook Messages so that if I was ever hacked, a minimum of I might limit exactly what they would have access to. But I discovered that this wasn't as easy as you would believe as there is no international "Delete All" option for Facebook messages and conversations. Rather, you must click into each discussion, click on the "Actions" button, and select "Erase Discussion".

Once it's installed, simply sign into Facebook. Open up the complete messages window and click the plugin icon that sits on the far right of the address bar.

Then click "Release". It will erase all the messages on that entire page. If you have a lot of old messages you may have to scroll down and click Launch a couple of times until they're all gone.
